To begin with, we have to understand that, all being equal, a lot of bright dudes came up with different ways to do something. Specifically, wireless connectivity. Bluetooth itself is a great compilation of specifications, a wishlist of features and options that bundled together offers a easy to use wireless protocol.

Intended to replace wires for transferring information, Bluetooth evolved into a robust, mature and easy to use protocol. It is fairly easy to deduce, even without any technical background, that Bluetooth speakers are some kind of speakers one can connect to wireless. And it is correct! Bluetooth is a wireless protocol established by some bright minds to help us leave the wires behind!

While a bit daunting at the beginning  I promise that, with our guidance it will be easier than setting up a VCR. What is a VCR anyway?

Step One

To start with we should check to ensure that we have Bluetooth in both electronic products we are trying to connect. In our case, today, we’ll consider connecting our speaker the CROON Original to a smart phone that has Bluetooth (and you have music on it) such as an iPhone, an Android or a tablet, laptop. Once we assure ourselves of Bluetooth existence and both devices powered up and turned on we can proceed to the next step.

Step Two - Bluetooth discovery

As the name implies, the next step is to help discover each other device. This is done by making one device broadcast it’s presence and using the other to look for the broadcasting one. Usually the “smarter” one like the iPhone. For CROON Original speaker, we need to press the big button on the back and than look for it with our “smart phone”

Step Three – Pairing

Depending on the phone there are some device-specific steps you need to take that you can check below. Once discovered (step 2 above) you need to pair the two to allow them to work together. Pairing usually involves clicking on the discovered device and sometimes, if necessary, entering a pass code. Because our CROON Original speaker comes with a button, one has to be physically next to the speaker to start the process, eliminating the need for a pass code.

Step Four – Enjoy
